Copper Country Grads Breakwater Federal Credit Union Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

Eligibility:

  • Must be a member of Breakwater Federal Credit Union, with accounts in good standing
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical program for the upcoming academic year

Application Requires the Following:

  • An essay response to the provided prompt
  • One letter of recommendation from a school employee
  • One letter of recommendation from a community member not affiliated with the school
  • A completed Student Information Sheet

Submit Applications: Complete the Student Information Sheet and submit application, essay, and reference letters to the Breakwater Scholarship Committee located at 700 East Sharon Avenue, Houghton, MI 49931.

Detroit Post of the Society of American Military Engineers Scholarships

Amount: $3,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be actively enrolled at an accredited college or university within the state of Michigan. Sophomore status and will not graduate in May 2026, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related sciences. U.S. citizen and enrolled in a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program.

Application Requires the Following: 

  • Completed nomination form
  • College transcript with cumulative credits and grade point average
  • A letter of recommendation from a SAME Detroit Post member or college advisor. Additional letters from an instructor or immediate supervisor will also be considered.
  • A written submission by the applicant describing scholastic and short-term and long-term career goals.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship

Engineering Futures Scholarship

Amount: $3,000

Note: Between one (1) and five (5) scholarships are awarded annually, determined by the assessment of information submitted by eligible students in their scholarship applications


Eligibility:
Students planning to study civil or environmental engineering, surveying, or a closely related field are eligible. Applicants must be in their first or second year of post-secondary school, and scholarships will be awarded for use in the recipient’s upcoming Fall semester.

Current employees of, and family members (including spouse or domestic partner, brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and spouses or domestic partners of brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren), of employees of EMCS, Inc., a Wisconsin corporation (EMCS), are not eligible to apply for scholarships.


Application Requires the Following:
• Transcripts of college academic records (required)
• Reference(s) (letter(s) of support) (one (1) minimum)
• A clear, one-page essay outlining personal reasons for studying civil engineering/surveying or related field and future career objectives. AI tools should not be used.

Michigan Association of Local Environmental Health Administrators (MALEHA) Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Eligibility:

  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student that is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in Michigan.
  • Have a declared major or concentration for a degree in environmental health, public health, or one of the natural sciences.
  • Have completed and submitted the scholarship application, including a written essay, one letter of recommendation and academic transcripts before the application deadline.
  • Intend to pursue a career in environmental health as demonstrated by academic record, experience and/or essay.
