BRA SHOW WORKSHOP NEW DATE:  Due to the weather the ladies of the Society of Intellectual Sisters have changed the date of the Bra Show Workshop.  We will now host another session on Wednesday, 14 March 2012, from 7-9PM.  We look forward to your attendance and your interest in making a bra, this is open to everyone. CLUB VOLLEYBALL GAME AT FINLANDIA:  The Men’s Volleyball Club will be playing a match against NIU and Finlandia University at the Paavo Nurmi Center on Finlandia’s campus on 3/13/12 @ 6:30 PM.  Questions about the game can be directed to Brandon Radloff at blradlof@gmail.com.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE PROGRAM DURING SPRING BREAK:  The Outdoor Adventure Program is open for Spring Break!  We’ll be around to facilitate your adventure over break, keeping our normal hours. Given our newfound snow, it’s a great week to go explore on snowshoes!  Rental cost for snowshoes is $6 per day.  Each person who has paid the Experience Tech fee also gets 1 day snowshoe rental AT NO COST!  You must show up in person with your Tech ID in hand to take advantage of the offer.  For a full list of gear and pricing, or for ideas on where to ski or hike in the Keweenaw, stop by our website www.oap.mtu.edu or contact OAP at oap@mtu.edu

RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM OPPORTUNITIES:  Do you want to help raise money for cancer? Are you interested in starting a team to fundraise? Well it’s not  too late!  Relay For Life will be holding their next team captain meeting March 15 at 8pm in the Wads Annex. NOMINATIONS TAKEN FOR CLAIR M DONOVAN AWARD:  Do you know someone who should be recognized for his or her outstanding service contributions to Michigan Tech?  Blue Key Honor Society is seeking nominations for the 2012 Clair M. Donovan Award, recognizing a member of the faculty, staff, or student body for one or more of the following: their service to Michigan Tech, especially in non-academic activities; their contribution to the public image of Michigan Tech; and/or, their continuing interest in the development of the University.  The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, March 21, at 5:00 p.m. in the Blue Key Office, MUB 106. STC SPEAKER SERIES:  The Society of Technical Communications Student Chapter, as part of a speaker series, will be sponsoring Rob Berman on Wednesday, March 14 at 7:00 pm in Walker 120A.  His talk is entitled “STC and Music: Creating Documentation for the Music Industry.”  Berman is a technical writer who has found many opportunities within the music and recording industry.  Berman started his career as a musician and recording engineer and eventually found himself in technical writing for ENSONIQ.  Now, he uses InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Captivate to create documentation for Roland Corporation, a multinational manufacturer of recording equipment and electronic musical instruments.  Additionally, he works as a freelance technical writer for a company that produces surveillance equipment.  This event is sponsored by the STC Student Chapter.  Questions can be directed to  Krysten Cooper at kecooper@mtu.edu.

THE GREAT LAKES SHOWCASE AT THE ROZSA:  The Rozsa Center is pleased to present The Great Lakes Showcase: An Annual Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts and Crafts, March 12-30th.  Please join us in celebrating the region’s visual arts community!  The public is invited to view the work of area artists in the gallery Monday – Friday, and also to the opening reception on Monday, March 12, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  The show will run through March 30, 2012, and is free and open to the public.  Regular Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
