HuskyLEAD Session – Incorporating Michigan Tech Values into Your Organization
The next HuskyLEAD Session is on Tuesday, October 23 at 6:00 PM in the MUB Ballroom A1. Presenters Beth Lunde, Bonnie Gorman, and Samantha Allen will touch on Leadership Competencies: Self Awareness, Ethical Practices, and Social Responsibility. As well as Learning Outcomes: Participants will learn the Michigan Tech Values Statement and focus on what it means to them in a relation to their organization. In addition, participants will be able to implement the Values into their organization to better develop and enhance their members and overall group.

Identity Standards for Registered Student Organizations
Did you know that University Marketing and Communications has a University Identity Standards Guide for student organizations? Check out the guide at http://www.mtu.edu/idstandards/idstandards-studentorgs.pdf. Student Activities encourages all organizations to read and be familiar with these standards, especially when designing posters/publicity and web content.
In an attempt to re-purpose rainfall on campus, a Michigan Tech student engineering design group would like the campus community’s opinion regarding implementation of a pond on campus.

International Programs and Services is sponsoring a theme contest for next year’s Parade of Nations event. Faculty, staff and students from Michigan Technological University and Finlandia University are eligible to submit a contest entry. The winning entrant will receive a Parade of Nations t-shirt and a VIP food pass to the Multicultural Festival. The winning theme will appear on the Parade of Nations Facebook, web site, and promotional materials.
The theme should be a word or a short phrase that focuses on the multicultural spirit of the community.
Example of past themes include:
2012 ‘Celebrate’
2011 ‘Spice is Always Nice’
2010 ‘Many Nations..One Heart’
2009 ‘Dancing With Diversity’
2008 ‘Weaving Cultural Harmony’
2007 ‘Smiles Have no Borders’
Entries must be received by November 1, 2012 and the winner will be announced during International Educational Week, November 12-16, 2012.
