3. Volunteer Opportunity

The Aspirus Keweenaw Copperman Triathlon will be held on August 2 this year in beautiful Copper Harbor. The committee has begun its search for volunteers for this year’s race. Without the help of all of the wonderful volunteers, this race would not be possible. There are many opportunities in various capacities. If you’re available to help on either the 1st or 2nd, please let us know. Volunteers are able to tent camp on our site at Fort Wilkins Friday & Saturday and all receive a free t-shirt.

To sign up, you can go online to the keweenawcopperman.org website, click on “volunteer”, and fill out the form. Email Molly at mholmstrom@aspiruskeweenaw.org if you have any questions.

4. Last Call to Sign Up Today for the Michigan Tech Expo

Hello Student Organization leaders!  During the weeks of June 22-28 and July 6-12, Summer Youth Programs will be hosting two huge scholarship summer camps: Women in Engineering (WIE) and Engineering Scholars Program (ESP). As part of these camps, we host an expo about all things Michigan Tech. This expo includes representatives from many student organizations, Enterprise teams, and club sports. Additionally, this will serve as the academic expo for the two programs; all departments are welcome to attend.

The purpose of the “Tech Expo” is to give these bright students a feeling of what life is like at Michigan Tech. All of the participants have applied and been accepted to the program based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, and teacher recommendations — they are very driven and interesting young people! During the week of June 23rd, the group is entirely female. 150 students participate each week for a total of 300.

Dates: Wed. June 25 and Wed. July 9

Times: Both Expos are from 4 – 5 PM

Location: MUB Ballroom

If you or someone else in your organization is here for the summer and would be interested in hosting a booth, please fill out the information below. Last year we hosted several dozen tables, and we are striving to make this year’s Expo the best yet! If you have any questions about the event or our programs, please feel welcome to contact Liz Fujita (eafujita@mtu.edu).

To sign up, please fill out this short FORM.
