1. Volunteers Needed at Strawberry Festival

The Copper Country Humane Society needs help at their quilt show on July 11 and 12 in Chassell during the Strawberry Festival.  Volunteers are needed to collect admission and sell raffle tickets.

2. Tickets Still Available for the Sunset Cruise

There are still 10 tickets available for the Sunset Cruise in Copper Harbor.

If you would like to purchase a ticket please come to Student Activities, MUB 112 with your student ID and $5.00.

3. Local 4th of July Events

If you’re looking for fireworks there are a few different locations and days you can choose from.

Independence Day Celebration in Copper Harbor. Watch the annual parade at 10:00 AM and starting at noon, kids games and a cookout by the Copper Harbor Volunteer Fire Department in the Township Park. And of course a fantastic fireworks display at dusk.

The community of Dollar Bay starts off its 4th of July celebration on Thursday, July 3 with free horse & wagon rides at 6 pm and a street dance at 7:30 PM. Snacks and refreshments will be available at the fire hall starting at 6:30 PM. On Friday, July 4 the VFW Memorial Service takes place at 11:00 AM followed by the parade at noon. Children’s games will begin at 1:30 PM behind the fire hall and the Franz Family Ministries will perform at 2:00 PM at Pioneer Park. The snack & refreshment stand, the pasty sale and the chicken BBQ all begin at 10:30 AM.

The Village of South Range begins its 4th of July Celebration with a flag raising at the Community Building at 8:00 AM. Children’s races begin at 12:30 PM at the Range Veterans Memorial Park. A wood carving expo will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Main Street along with an Elvis Act and bag pipes from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. The parade is held at 3:00 PM on Main Street. At 4:30 PM there will be Little League baseball games and more children’s games at Veterans Memorial Park. Food and refreshments will be served throughout the Village. The fireworks begin at dusk at the Range Veterans Memorial Park.
