Rozsa Center and Visual and Performing Arts 2015-16 Season

Michigan Technological University’s Rozsa Center and Visual and Performing Arts 2015-16 season presents a little something for everyone this year! The season includes over 39 events, encompassing film, lectures, music, theater, art gallery, dance, and more. From Shakespeare and ballet to comedy and jazz, Rozsa shows will entertain all tastes and all ages. The season even includes an exciting opportunity for local youth dancers to perform alongside professional ballet dancers in The Nutcracker! Flexible discount season ticket packages are on sale from August 1 through August 31. Single tickets go on sale September 1

Community Programs for Adults

Michigan Tech Community Programs offers a wide variety of classes to fit your summer fitness needs. Check out the following great classes!
All Levels Yoga – A great fit for beginners and experienced yoga practitioners alike. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:15-7:15 pm in the SDC Studio.
Adult Skate Workshop – Designed for the beginner through intermediate adult ice skater. Next session begins August 11. Class meets Tuesdays, 12:00-12:50 pm in the MacInnes Ice Arena.
PiYo – The muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates combined with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. Class meets Wednesdays, 5:00-5:50 pmand Saturdays, 9:00-9:50 am in the SDC Studio.
Metabolic Conditioning – A fast and effective mix of strength, conditioning and core training. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-6:50 am in the SDC Studio.
Aqua Zumba – Beat the heat with an aquatic mix of cardio and body toning. Class meets Tuesdays, 6:30-7:20 pm and Thursdays, 5:30-6:20 pm in the SDC Pool.

The last round of youth community programs for the summer begins soon! Sign your child up now for one of the following great classes!

Swimming

  • Next session begins August 3
  • Parent/child (ages 6 months to 4 years)
  • Preschool (ages 4 to 5 years)
  • Levels 1-6
  • Register by July 29

Huskies Hockey Challenge Night

  • 4-week program begins August 10
  • Mites, Squirts and PeeWees (2014-15 level of play)
  • Fast-paced, small area games

Huskies Total Skills and Power Skating

  • Power skating
  • Off ice skills
  • Mites, Squirts, PeeWees and Bantams (2014-15 level of play)
  • Next session begins August 3

Learn to Skate

  • Next session begins August 11
  • Ages 3 to adult welcome

Summer Open Swim and Public Skating Hours

The SDC Swimming Pool is a great place to perfect your favorite swim stroke or just splash around & cool off. Single day passes & group rates are available.

Summer open swim hours are:
Monday-Friday, 6:00-9:00am, 12:00-1:30pm and 4:30-8:00pm
Saturday & Sunday, 12:00-5:00pm
Adult Lap Swim: Monday-Friday, 1:30-2:30pm

Summer Public Skating
The John MacInnes Student Ice Arena offers public skating sessions twice weekly this summer. It is free to SDC members and Michigan Tech students (present ID for entry). It is also included in Friday and Sunday SDC day passes, or you can pay $3/person for skating only.

Summer public skating hours are:
Sundays, 5:00-5:50pm
Fridays, 2:00-2:50pm

New Online GPA Estimator

Did you know, the Registrar’s Office website now hosts a GPA estimator. The tool may be used to estimate semester and cumulative GPAs and run various scenarios by entering the expected letter grade and credit hour for each class.
