Heritage Day of Muslim Countries
Come and learn about Muslim culture, traditions, and customs on Tuesday, November 17 from 11:30-1:30 in the MUB Ballroom A2 . This is a great opportunity to meet students from different nationalities including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Palestine. Sample Tasty food, listen to cultural music, view posters, hijab booth, and much more.

Khana Khazana Serving Moroccan Food
Dining Services has teamed up with international students from across campus to bring you Khana Khazana (food treasure). International students make authentic ethnic foods from their homes and share them with you every Friday during the academic year at the Food Court in the Memorial Union from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm.
Maghrebi mint tea is a green tea prepared with spearmint leaves and sugar, traditional to the Greater Maghreb region most closely associated with Morocco.
The serving of the tea can take a ceremonial form, especially when prepared for a guest. The tea is traditionally made by the head male in the family, and offered to guests as a sign of hospitality. Typically, at least three glasses of tea are served, and it is considered impolite to refuse it.

Moroccan lamb tagine
A tagine is a sweet and warmly spiced Moroccan stew in which meat and/or vegetables and pulses are slowly simmered. This is a traditional Moroccan lamb tagine simmered in numerous spices. Lamb and apricots is a lovely combination for that.

Make this sweet & spicy Moroccan-Style Vegetable Couscous as a festive vegan entree. Zucchini, sweet potatoes, chickpeas, dried fruit. The spice adds a wonderful depth to this sweet and savory dish; super healthy and so satisfying!

HuskyLEAD – Planning an Organization Event
The next HuskyLEAD session will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in the Memorial Union Building Alumni Lounge at 6PM and will last for one hour only. The subject will be “Planning an Organization Event from Start to Finish” and the presenter will be Maryann Wilcox, Student Activities.
Tuesday’s workshop will help you to turn your event idea into a reality – everything including hiring speakers and professionals, budgets, funding sources, space reservations, publicity, and use of campus and community resources will be discussed. HuskyLEAD is a series of workshops designed to develop the personal, academic, professional and organizational leadership skills of students. All students are welcomed and you need not be a member of an organization to attend this session. Heritage Programming Committee Presents Dr. Martin Reinhardt
Heritage Programming Committee through CDI will be hosting a discussion by Dr. Reinhardt on Friday, November 13 @ 4:00PM in the MUB Ballroom . He will discuss barriers within education for Native students and their socialized experiences in higher education. Refreshments served!

Additional Flu Vaccine Clinic
U.P. Health System – Portage will hold another flu vaccine clinic on campus. The vaccine is administered by injection at a cost of $30 payable at the time of service. Cash, check or credit cards accepted. This is on a first-come, first-served basis; no appointment is necessary. The flu clinic will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in MUB Ballroom A1.
Students are welcome to attend the flu clinic. Anyone under the age of 18 cannot be vaccinated without parental permission.
Be prepared to show a picture ID and insurance card. If you are insured by Michigan Tech’s Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) health plan, your vaccine is free of charge and will be billed to insurance if you present your BCBSM member ID card at the time of service. Students with Michigan Tech’s United Health Care (UHC) student health plan can also have their vaccine billed to insurance with their UHC member ID card.
IPS Hosting International Education Week
International Programs and Services will be hosting events for International Education Week (IEW), November 16 – 20 (see poster for different locations). “Study Asia Night” kicks off IEW– you’ll hear from students who’ve studied abroad in Asia, drink tea, and eat snacks.
IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. There will be raffles at each IEW session, and giveaways on the IPS Facebook page. You must like the IPS Facebook page before November 19 to be eligible for the giveaways.

Winter Carnival Stage Revue Auditions
Any student organization or resident halls are encouraged to apply for this years stage revue auditions! The theme for this year: “As snow accumulates at alarming rates, we show our love for the 50 states”.
Applications are available now at http://www.mtu.edu/carnival, under the “Participate” tab and select Stage Revue Application. Submit the application and fee ($20 check made out to “Blue Key MTU”, if you don’t make finals you get refunded) to the Blue Key office in MUB 106. The application and fee are due by November 20 at 5:00pm.
