Fall Blood Drive 

Currently, there is a critical need for blood donors. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give blood.

Join Fraternity and Sorority Life from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, September 6 and 7 in the Library Reading Room to donate blood.

Touchdown Friday – Campus Store and University Images

Friday, September 1st is Touchdown Friday for the season’s first home game! Receive 25% off imprinted clothing and souvenirs online at Bookstore.mtu.edu University Images and the Campus Store.

Typically on the day following a MTU home football game, receive 5% (up to 25%) off imprinted clothing and souvenirs for every touchdown scored. It’s usually Touchdown Monday’s, but this was a special event so today with be Touchdown Friday!

Tech Theatre Company To Hold Auditions

The Tech Theatre Company will hold auditions on September 6th and September 7th for Fires in the Mirror by Anna Devere Smith, which investigates the ethnic conflict in Crown Heights in 1991. A number of actors of various cultural backgrounds are needed. Auditions will be held at 7:00 pm each evening in the Walker 210 across the hall from the McArdle Theatre. Those who wish to participate are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, at 6:45 pm. The play run dates are from November 15 & 16 – December 2nd. The auditions are open to anyone, and include opportunities for students, faculty, and community members. If you have questions please contact Roger Held, rheld@mtu.edu, 906-487-3238.

The second play is Picasso at the Lapin Agile by Steve Martin. Auditions will be in the McArdle Theatre on September 6th & 7th at 7:00 pm. Play runs dates are October 12-14th & 18-20th. Michigan Tech To Hold Annual Ensemble Auditions

The music ensembles at Michigan Tech will hold annual ensemble auditions from August 30 – September 7th in preparation for the 2017-18 performance season.  The ensembles include opportunities for students and community members to perform band, choral, jazz, and orchestral literature in concerts from September 2017-April 2018.  Some ensembles only include students and others are open to participants from the community.  See below for more detailed information.

Audition times are available on the following days:

Wednesday, August 30, 1:00pm-5:00pm

Thursday, August 31, 1:00pm-5:00pm

Friday, September 1, 8:00am-12:00pm

Tuesday, September 5, 9:00am-12:00pm

Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, September 6

Michigan Tech Jazz Auditions (Rozsa 208)

Jazz auditions will be held by appointment during the first week of classes Tuesday, September 4 – Friday, September 7.  Audition sign up sheets and instructions will be located outside of the Visual and Performing Arts Department office (Walker 209) beginning on Monday, August 28.  Jazz rehearsals will begin on Monday, September 11, 2017.

The Rozsa Center and Parade of Nations presents………..

China Gold

The headline act for Michigan Tech’s 2017 Parade of Nations celebration, on Saturday, September 16, at 7:30 pm. China Gold is a sChina Goldpectacular international acrobatic presentation featuring many feats of strength, speed and agility.

 

Tickets are on sale now, $10 for adults, $5 for children and no charge for students who have paid the Experience Tech fee.  Tickets are available by phone, (906) 487-2073, online at mtu.edu/rozsa, in person at the Central Ticketing Office in the Student Development Complex, or at the Rozsa Box office the night of the show. Please note the Rozsa Box Office is only open two hours before performances.
