This is a Federal work-study position. Work-study is a source of financial aid that is awarded by the Financial Aid Office and is based upon unmet financial need and availability of funding. Career Closet is back!

The Career Closet is a give-away of gently worn business clothing possible to assist students in preparing for Career Fair.

The Career Closet will be held on Saturday, February 18 from 1:00pm-5:00pm and Sunday, September 19 from 10:00am-2:00pm. This event will take place in the Superior Room and Makerspace in the Memorial Union Building.

The nominees and recipients of each award will be honored at the 29th Annual Student Leadership Awards Ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 in the Memorial Union Building Ballroom.

International Students Forums 2023

Worried you are living in a social and political bubble and are not getting exposed to outside viewpoints despite being surrounded by a wonderfully diverse campus? Come to the first-ever International Student’s Forum at Michigan Tech to respectfully share your voice and listen to different perspectives at one of two forum options on Monday, January 30th, and Thursday, February 2nd at 5 pm in the Library East Reading Room. The event will begin with a moderated discussion including participants from the African Student Organization, Indian Student Organization, Bangladeshi Student Association, Nepalese Student Association, Graduate Student Government, among others. Pizza and refreshments will be provided as well as time for more casual conversations. 

All undergraduate and graduate students, of any nationality, are invited to the first-ever International Student’s Forum to respectfully share and hear the viewpoints of their diverse classmates about life, major issues, and culture all over the world.

This event was planned in partnership between the Van Pelt and Opie Library and the Social Sciences International Relations class to increase opportunities for students of varying backgrounds to interact. Registration is not required, but you can help us make sure we have enough pizza by registering for the Monday, Jan. 30th forum or the Thursday, Feb. 2nd forum. 


Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Standard Singles Tournament

Date: Sunday, February 5th at 5:00 pm
Location: Walker 109

The Pokemon League at Michigan Tech will be holding a Scarlet and Violet tournament on Sunday the 5th in Walker 109. Registration will start at 5pm, and the tournament will start shortly after. The standard singles format will be used which is OU+the item clause. Matches will be 6v6, best of 1. End time will depend on the number of entrants. Beginners are welcome, and if you want help with team-building, feel free to ask in our discord at http://discord.gg/36RSMH.

The President’s Council for Health and Well-being is partnering with the Center for Student Mental Health and Well-being to bring mocktails to the Winter Carnival All-Nighter! Stop by the MUB after 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8th to grab a quick drink! 

Bigfoot Gloweshoe

Husky Innovate presents: Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion

Join us on February 1 from 4-5pm for an online entrepreneurship panel discussion celebrating entrepreneurship with four entrepreneurial leaders who have had successful careers forging their own path forward. 

Successful entrepreneurs and philanthropic leaders; Rebeccca Ufkes, Phil Ufkes, Thu Brule, and David Brule will share their experiences, knowledge, and insights about how to lead through entrepreneurship.  Our panelists have had success starting multiple businesses, heading up major corporations, supporting students, and leading community improvement.  From White House recognition, to multiple successful exits for hundreds of millions of dollars, these panelists have a range of experiences and expertise.  They have led ventures housed right here in the UP and across the nation in fields including technology, manufacturing, and the beauty industry.

The panelists will share their views and experiences on topics including:  What does an aspiring entrepreneur need to be a success? What is the career path of an entrepreneur?  What are the skill sets and mindsets of an entrepreneur?  How does where you reside affect your opportunities?
