Myth of the Week

Work-study income is applied to our student bill.

False: The work-study award amount does not apply to your bill. You are paid directly for the hours worked at your on-campus job. Students must qualify for the Federal Work-Study Program. Learn more about work-study.

Did you miss National Voter Registration Day?

There is still time to register before election day on Tuesday, November 5th! Every eligible voter should check their Voter Registration Status to ensure their address is up to date and that they are still registered. To be eligible to vote you must be 18, a U.S. citizen, and a resident of the state in which you register. Some other criteria may apply by state.

Check your voter registration status for:

MichiganWisconsinIllinoisMinnesotaOther States

Not registered yet? Register to vote in:

MichiganWisconsinIllinoisMinnesotaOther States

The deadline to register online or by mail in Michigan is October 21.

Not sure where to register?

If you live in the local area while you attend Michigan Tech, you can register to vote here (at your on-campus or off-campus address) instead of at your permanent address, even if your previous address is out-of-state. It’s up to you. The key is entering the address where you wish to vote on the registration form. You can only vote in one place! Registering at a new address cancels any prior registrations at an old address. In the state of Michigan, the address on your driver’s license must match where you register to vote – if you change one you must change the other. With expanded options for voting early or absentee, you don’t have to be in your voting district on election day to vote.

Fall Blood Drive Results

Huskies rolled up their sleeves, gave blood, and got the job done this September!

We are thrilled to share that during our two-day blood drive (September 4th and 5th), a total of 427 units of blood were collected. Our new one-day record for collection is 222 units. In light of the nationwide blood shortage, we can say without a doubt that Huskies are saving lives!

Thank you to every donor, promoter, and volunteer who made the drive a success. It would not have been possible without your time and dedication.

Save the date or schedule your appointment now for our next drive on February 11 and 12!

To schedule your appointment or to learn more, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
