Have You Considered Voting Absentee?

Absentee ballots are now available for Michigan voters! If you are registered to vote in Michigan, you can request your ballot today by completing the online application. To ensure there is enough time to receive and return an absentee ballot, plan on submitting the absentee ballot application online at least 15 days before Election Day (Tuesday, November 5).

Did you know? Michigan voters can decide to be placed on a permanent absentee ballot list. Their local clerk will then automatically mail them an absentee ballot for all local, state, and federal elections.

Completing An Absentee Ballot:

Absentee ballot envelopes contain a ballot, a secrecy sleeve, and ballot marking instructions. You should complete their absentee ballot by carefully following the written instructions included with the ballot. Absentee ballots must be received by your local clerk by 8 p.m. on Election Day with the exception of military and overseas ballots. You have several options for returning an absentee ballot in Michigan, including mailing your completed and signed absentee ballot to your local clerk’s office using the provided pre-paid envelope.

Not a Michigan Resident?

No worries! If you are a registered voter in another state, you may still be able to request an absentee ballot. Follow the links below to learn about the requirements and process for your state:

Wisconsin – Illinois – Minnesota – Other States

Meet the Cast of The Glass Menagerie a play by Tennessee Williams, directed by Nich Radcliffe

Michigan Tech Theatre is thrilled to announce the cast for The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams, part of the Michigan Tech Theatre Series in the 2024/25 Rozsa Season. Director Nich Radcliffe has directed over 50 plays, operas, and musicals in Chicago and across the United States; The Glass Menagerie will be his second production at Michigan Tech, with last season’s sell-out show, Purple Hearts as his debut production.

Live in McArdle Theatre, November 13-16, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie catapulted the playwright to Broadway fame. Directed by Nich Radcliffe, the production features a talented cast:

Chase Mead as Tom, the narrator

Clarissa Gordon as Amanda, Tom’s mother

Lyndsay Lagreid as Laura, Tom’s sister

Dhruva Dayal as Jim, gentleman caller

This autobiographical play, narrated by Tom (Tennessee Williams’ real name), follows the lives of the Wingfields, a family living in St. Louis during the 1930s.

Based on the playwright’s own family experiences, the story is told through Tom’s memory. The play delves into the struggles, shame, hopes, and dreams of each character, presenting a poignant portrayal of a dysfunctional family navigating the challenges of its past and uncertain future.

The play explores the mother’s hardships of raising two children alone after her husband’s abandonment. Meanwhile, Tom faces the pressure of finding a suitable partner for his shy and withdrawn sister, Laura, who retreats into a fantasy world filled with her beloved glass collection, her menagerie.
