Homecoming Team and Court Registration Open Now!
It’s that amazing time of the fall semester—Homecoming! This year’s theme, Spies, is all about Husky spirit, friends, and a mission you won’t want to miss. Homecoming runs Sunday, September 13 through Saturday, September 19, but the real heart of the celebration is you—your team and your court.
Whether you join with your student organization, your residence hall, or just a group of friends, forming a Homecoming team is the best way to experience the week. Teams can compete or simply participate for fun, but either way, you’ll get to show off your Husky pride while making unforgettable memories.
And don’t forget about Homecoming Court! Court is a tradition that recognizes leaders, doers, and spirited Huskies who bring energy to campus. Think you have what it takes to accept the mission? If you want to represent your fellow students and help lead the celebration, make sure to register.

Fall Blood Drive 2026
Roll up your sleeves and make a difference this fall! The Fall Blood Drive is a chance to give back to your community and help provide lifesaving blood to patients who need it.
Our goal is 190 units, and every donation gets us closer. Whether you’re a first-time donor or a regular blood donor, your donation can make a real impact.
The Fall Blood Drive will be held in the MUB Ballroom:

HuskyLEAD: Exploring Emotional Intelligence
Leading others starts with understanding yourself. In this interactive session, you will explore the four components of emotional intelligence and discover how they impact communication, relationships, and leadership. You will leave with practical strategies for developing self-awareness, regulating emotions, and demonstrating empathy in both your organization and everyday life.

Keweenaw Day 2026
Your mission, should you choose to accept it: K-Day! Join us Friday, September 11, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at Chassell Centennial Park for an afternoon packed with games, food, activities, and plenty of opportunities to put your skills to the test.
Grab your fellow agents and get ready to explore everything K-Day has to offer. From tasty snacks and competitive games to fun activities, there will be something for everyone.
Need a ride to the mission site? Free shuttles will be available to get you to and from Chassell Centennial Park, so leave the driving to us and focus on your mission.
Before reporting for duty, make sure you complete the liability waiver. After completing it, save your email verification and show it to a K-Day volunteer at check-in to receive your wristband. Participants under 18 will need a parent or guardian to complete the Sponsored Programs Release, Waiver of Liability, and Assumption of Risk Form for Minors and return it to activities@mtu.edu. Minor participants can then visit the Student Leadership and Involvement check-in table to receive their wristband.

Volunteer for National Voter Registration Day!
Are you passionate about civic engagement and ensuring that students have the information they need to participate in our elections? We would LOVE to have you support our efforts during National Voter Registration Day. Volunteers will assist in encouraging students to check their registration status and make a vote plan for this November. All volunteers must attend a Tabling Training on one of two dates:
- Thursday, September 10 at 12 PM in the MUB Superior Room
- Sunday, September 13 at 6 PM in the MUB Superior Room
National Voter Registration Day is then from 10 AM until 3 PM on Tuesday, September 15th at locations across campus.

The first couple of days of the school year can be stressful, so come take a break and unwind with us! Stop by the Alumni House 1st-floor conference room on Friday, September 4th, between 2- 4 p.m. for some free cookies and coloring! Enjoy tasty treats while you relax with some coloring – it’s a perfect way to de-stress and recharge.
PlayWell in the Keweenaw Husky Hour!
Excited to be back in the area and do some exploring? Join us for our “PlayWell in the Keweenaw – Learning to Pack a Bag and Where to Explore” Husky Hour to learn about local trails/attractions in the area from Visit Keweenaw, how to pack a hiking bag from the Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP), and how to connect the two to our PlayWell faction of the BeWell Initiative. Feel free to bring your own bag if you want to ask the OAP any questions. Husky Eats will also be providing trial mix samples to munch on! The Husky Hour will be held on September 8th, in The Alley Makerspace, from 4-5 PM.

Field of Memories
Join the Michigan Tech community in recognizing Suicide Prevention Week by participating in the Field of Memories on Tuesday, September 8, from 10 a.m.– 1 p.m. on the lawn in front of the H-STEM Complex.
Stop by to write a message of hope and encouragement or honor someone who has been impacted by suicide. Your message will become part of a growing display of memorial flags that will remain on campus throughout the week as a reminder that every member of our community matters and that support is always available.
Together, we can create a visible message of hope, remembrance, and connection. We hope to see you there.

Call for Student Volunteers: Fall 2026 Career Fest and Career Fair
Career Services is looking for student volunteers to support Career Fest throughout September and Fall Career Fair on Sept. 29. Tasks include setup, teardown, employer assistance, and general event support.
Career Fest Shifts:
Sept. 3, 9, 11, 22, 23, & 28, all from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration is open. For all shifts, please meet at the Career Services tent/trailer on the MUB lawn. Wear comfortable clothes; some tasks involve lifting.
Career Fair: Sign up for a shift and help welcome employers, assist with check‑in, and keep the event running smoothly.

Fall Study Away Fair
Stop by Michigan Tech’s Fall Study Away Fair Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the Husky Statue to learn more about the various study away opportunities available to MTU students!
Study Away will have representatives and resources available from several different study away program types and international education opportunities.
Attending the Fall Study Away Fair is a great way to gain an initial understanding of:

Writing Center Fall Hours
The Writing Center will open on August 31st for our regular semester hours! They are open Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm as well as Sundays from 4pm-6pm. The Brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon are hosting Tunes 4 Jude’s, a night of live music, food, games, and community support benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

MTU Waterski & Wakeboard Club — First General Meeting!
Looking for a new way to get outside, meet people, and spend your time on the water? Come check out the Waterski & Wakeboard Club!
Our first and biggest general meeting of the year is happening September 3rd at 6 PM in Fisher 138. Come learn what our club is all about, meet the team, and find out how you can get involved this year! No experience needed! We supply all of the equipment too.
Never water skied or wakeboarded before? No problem! We teach multiple new members how to ski every year, and all skill levels are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced skiers.
We offer opportunities for slalom, trick, jump, wakeboarding, barefooting, surfing, etc., and plenty of time hanging out with friends on the water. You don’t want to miss the biggest meeting of the year!

The City of Hancock is proud to present the 4th Annual End of Summer Celebration on Saturday, September 5, from 2–10 p.m. on the 400 block of Quincy Street in downtown Hancock. The community is invited to celebrate the end of summer with a full day of family-friendly activities, tournaments, live music, food, vendors, and entertainment for all ages.
Support MTU Athletics!
Based on position, use ticket scanners (hand-held device to validate ticket admission), stampers (used to validate patrons entered with a valid ticket if they leave through the gates and come back for re-entry), or serve wristbands (put wristbands on patrons with valid tickets for VIP Pavilion area) for entrance to the event
Support the Fall Blood Drive!
Volunteers are needed to support the Fall Blood Drive. Positions include set-up, canteen, check-in, floater (help donors in the building find the blood drive and serve as a backup), and cleanup.
All volunteers should check in at the MUB Ballroom. You are welcome to sign up for as many shifts as you would like.
Support Michigan Tech’s Career Fest!
Volunteer responsibilities may include assisting with event setup and teardown, moving tables, chairs, tents, displays, and supplies, helping employers set up their booths, and providing general event support as needed. This is a great opportunity to gain event experience, connect with employers, and contribute to one of Michigan Tech’s largest annual events.
Support Keweenaw Day!
K-Day, short for Keweenaw Day, is Michigan Tech’s annual registered student organization fair with around 200 groups in attendance. Each year on K-Day, classes release at noon so our students can learn about ways to get involved and connected at Tech. K-Day typically sees around 3,500-4,000 students participate, so we can’t host it on our own! We rely on student volunteers to assist with tasks such as set-up, check-in, bag distribution, risk management, and food monitoring.

We are looking for eager volunteers who are willing to do some hands-on tasks! You might find yourself building something with wood, sewing something, or another activity. Come with a positive attitude and excitement to help the community!
