Biosensor technology is already widely used in everyday life. It’s found in personal health devices such as fitness trackers and glucose monitors and is also used to measure environmental toxins. The tech has already changed the game worldwide — but at Michigan Tech, Associate Professor Yixin Liu and her recent Ph.D. student mentee Grace Dykstra ’25 recognized its potential for further advancement.
Congratulations to Dr. Timothy Eisele and Ph.D. students Palas Borkar and Neha Sharma, whose research on sustainable manganese recovery has been featured in Engineering & Mining Journal.
Please join us in congratulating Michael Mullins on being elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Caryn Heldt on receiving an award from the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL). Heldt’s project was selected as one of eight new projects funded through Project Call 9.1, marking a significant achievement for Michigan Technological University and demonstrating Michigan Tech’s ability to compete alongside major leaders in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
