New Summer Course: Intro to Quantum Computing


A new course has been added to College of Computing summer courses. Details follow.

Course: CS5090 Intro to Quantum Computing
Summer 2022: Track B June 27 – August 12, online
Instructor: Ali Ebnenasir
Description: This course provides introductory exposure to Quantum Computing. The course starts with some fundamental concepts (e.g., superposition, entanglement) in Quantum Mechanics as well as the characterization of quantum information in Hilbert space. Other topics include the introduction of quantum gates, teleportation, reversible computing, and basic quantum algorithms such as Simon’s algorithm, Grover’s algorithm and Shor’s celebrated factoring algorithm. Prerequisite: CS3311 and CS4321. Acceptable co-req CS4321.
