Mohammad Anas Taeb has been chosen as this years winner of the Wilbur Haas Graduate Research Excellence Award. The winner of this award is chosen every year and his given to a graduate level student in civil or environmental engineering to recognize outstanding student scholarship and research contributions. Congratulations Mohammad on this spectacular accomplishment!

This years winners of the CN Endowment/Alumni and Friends scholarships are Steven Merholz, Landon Vojtech, and Mohammad Anas Taeb. These MTU students are interested in the railroad industry and are hardworking and motivated in their academic career. Congratulations to these individuals on their incredible accomplishment!
Brendan Tanner has been named the recipient of the 2025 Albert J. Reinschmid Memorial Scholarship, awarded to students pursuing academic interests in the railway industry. Congratulations to Brendan Tanner on this amazing accomplishment!

Michigan Tech Rail Transportation Program scholarships are proudly sponsored by the CN Endowment Fund and by generous donations from our alumni, other industry supporters, and friends. This year, we are also the benefactors of Albert J. Reinschmidt Memorial scholarship. Michigan Tech became only the third university eligible university for the scholarship.
The exact number and size of scholarships (except AJR scholarship) will depend on the level of donations we receive, but we have traditionally awarded 3–4 scholarships annually for Michigan Tech students with interests in the railroad industry.
Award Information
$2,500 – Albert J. Reinschmidt Memorial Scholarship (one)
Eligibility: Applicants for the Albert J. Reinschmidt Memorial Scholarship must be pursuing an academic interest in the railway industry.
$1,000-1,500 each – CN Endowment Fund and Michigan Tech Alumni and Friends Scholarships
Eligibility: Applicants for the Railroad Scholarships must be an undergraduate student at Michigan Tech University in good standing and interested in the railroad industry. Open to all disciplines.
Application Process
To apply for Railroad Scholarships, complete the Google form and email your transcript to Pam Hannon by January 10, 2024.

Successful applicants will be informed of awards by the early part of the Spring 2024 Semester.

The AREMA Educational Foundation provides scholarships to engineering students who are specializing in the railway industry and supports other educational and training endeavors that help to ensure the future of the profession.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be enrolled in a Graduate or Undergraduate program leading to a degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology in a curriculum which has been accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (or comparable accreditation in Canada and Mexico).
AREMA membership is required, and applicants should apply for complimentary Student Membership here before attempting to submit a scholarship application.
