MS Position – Understanding risk of a fading cryosphere to natural resources in the western U.S.

Drs. Scott Hotaling (Mountain Watershed Scientist) and Jessica Schad (Natural Resource Sociologist) are recruiting a graduate student to start an MS degree in Fall 2025 at Utah State University (USU) in Logan, UT.

The student will be co-advised by Drs. Hotaling and Schad but their primary affiliation will be within the Climate Change in Mountains Lab.

This project will likely involve both quantitative and qualitative social science work with opportunities for travel. The student will also have opportunities to present the research to academic audiences and agency partners and publish peer-reviewed articles. The project is fully funded for two years with a competitive stipend (includes tuition and health insurance).

Foxhead Regenerative Agriculture Project Program Director

FoxRAP, founded in 2021, is a grassroots regenerative agriculture nonprofit based in Green Lake, WI. They are hiring for a part time Farms Program Director with potential for the position to become full time later on. This is a primarily remote position with events in person as needed.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Coordinating their growing Upper Fox Food and Farm Network
  • Designing and implementing programming
  • Collaborating with local partners to host or facilitate field days and educational events
  • Building relationships with farmers, farm allies, and community partners
  • Collaborating with other local and regional partners, especially those which are underrepresented in agriculture
