Community Engaged Research Assistant

The West Virginia University Center for Resilient Communities (CRC) is recruiting 4 graduate students (MA/PhD) to begin in Summer 2025.

These positions (funded up to 4 years) will focus on the development of innovative approaches to community-engaged participatory research and promoting educational processes for building more just, equitable, and vibrant communities in Appalachia, the US South and other rural regions of the US.

Applicants are expected to contribute to the CRC’s ongoing areas of research in alternative/community economies, environmental justice, climate action, and food system transformation. 

Experience in social action or efforts to promote community wellbeing or social, economic and environmental justice in rural areas is also highly desired. 

Applicants should please send in one PDF a curriculum vitae and 1-3 samples of writing and/or other evidence of your experience in research or social action to Dr. Bradley Wilson, Executive Director – brwilson@mail.wvu.edu by January 15, 2025 @ 5pm for full consideration. After initial screening, finalists for the position will be asked to interview via Zoom.
