LATIN AMERICAN EVENT:  Join us for a fun and relaxing evening at another great Latin American event!  Tonight (Friday, April 22) we will have a “beach party” from 8:00 pm to midnight in the MUB Ballroom A with free salsa lessons and three hours of open floor with salsa, merengue, bachata and much more!  No partner needed; family friendly; all levels welcome; and it’s free!  Beach apparel highly recommended!  This event is organized by NOSOTROS, the Latin Student Organization at Michigan Tech, and supported by the Parents’ Fund of the Michigan Tech Fund.  For more information, contact Alessia Uboni, at auboni@mtu.edu.

STUDENT ART AND DESIGN SHOW:  The students of Michigan Tech faculty Mary Ann Beckwith and Susanne Kilpela display their artwork in the Visual & Performing Arts Annual Student Art & Design Show through today (Friday), April 22 in the Mezzanine levels of the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts.  The student show is free and open to the public and will be open until 8:00 PM this evening.

BENEFIT CONCERT FOR JAPAN:  The Praise In Effect Gospel Choir presents The Blood on Saturday, April 23 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MUB Ballroom.  The concert is in support of Japan relief efforts and free will donations will be accepted.  For questions, contact Kari Jordan at kari@mtu.edu.

FILM BOARD THIS WEEKEND:  The Film Board is showing Robin Hood: Men in Tights on Friday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 23rd in Fisher 135.  Show times are 6:00, 8:30, and 11:00pm.  This is a FREE movie for everyone.  However, concessions will still be available at their normal prices.  This is the last Film Board movie of the year, so take a break from studying and come and see a show!  If you have any questions, please contact Film Board’s Publicity Chair, Laura Holt (lmholt@mtu.edu).

DIRTY WORK TOUR:  The Michigan Tech Student Entertainment Board presents Baltimore pop-punk band All Time Low on the Dirty Work tour.  The tour includes supporting acts Yellow Card, The Summer Set and Hey Monday!  The show starts at 6:00 PM on Saturday April 23, 2011, at the  Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts.  Doors will open at 5:00 PM.  Ticket prices for the general public are $25.  To purchase tickets, contact Michigan Tech Ticketing Operations at the Rozsa Box Office at (906) 487-3200, The Central Ticket Office (SDC) at (906)487-2073 or go online at tickets.mtu.edu.  No refunds, exchanges, or late seating, please.
