Dueling Pianos

Join MUB Board and Late Night Programming for Dueling Pianos on January 18th from 8 to 11 pm in the MUB Ballroom. From Beethoven to Bohemian Rhapsody, these dueling pianos will be singing and playing requests from the crowd. Bring your friends, bring your family, come and go as you please while you enjoy some good food and even better music.

HuskyLead

This workshop discusses ways in which one can build an effective and long-lasting organization that best serves the needs of marginalized students and the campus as a whole. Be it a new organization or one that can use an overhaul this session allows time to focus on both short and long term goals and how the organization fits into campus culture.

Afrobeat Weekly Dance Classes for Spring 2020

The African Students Organization (ASO) organizes weekly Afrobeat dance classes for the Michigan Tech community, without charge.

This semester’s schedule of classes (Spring 2020) will commence on Tuesday, January 21, 7:30pm-8:30pm at the SDC Fitness Studio. It will repeat weekly (for the same time and venue) till the last week of regular classes, precisely Tuesday, April 21. The week of the Spring Break is excluded.

Come and enjoy energetic African music while exercising. Our instructors are eager to take you through the classes no matter your level of dance skill. Don’t be left out of the move!

UP North-South

A Festival of Music from Both Ends of 41

Michigan Tech’s Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts; Visual and Performing Arts Department; and Elizabeth “Libby” Meyer, Lecturer in Visual and Performing Arts and Director of the Music Composition Program will be presenting three days of new music, workshops, and masterclasses in the Surround Sound Music Series. The events begin Friday at 7:30 PM in the McArdle Theatre with the U.P. Composers Collective Concert  featuring pieces by local composers Thomas LaVoy, Milt Olsson, Griffin Candey, Elena Ruehr, Sarah Rimkus, and Carrie Biolo. They continue on Saturday at 3:00 PM with a masterclass by Michigan Tech student composers and the Miami-based PULSE trio, followed by PULSE’s own concert at 7:30 that evening. Sunday’s event, Music from Along 41, begins at 3:00 PM and features modern local, regional, and national composers and performers from along the route between the U.P. and Florida.

Title IX Survey

On Friday, January 17, 2020, all students over age 18 will be invited to participate in the Michigan Tech Title IX Sexual and/or Relationship Misconduct Climate Survey.  Students will receive an email with a link to the survey.

The goal of the survey is to provide Michigan Tech with important information on campus sexual misconduct prevalence and responses. Preventing and remedying sexual misconduct is essential to maintaining a safe environment in which students can learn. We are committed to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to fully benefit from our programs and activities.
