Join CDI for a Bonfire at Prince’s Point!


Volunteers are needed for Camp STAR!

Camp STAR is a bereavement camp for children ages 8-17 that have experienced the death of a loved one. It is a free weekend-long camp held at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, MI. There are traditional camp activities along with grief support and education for children. The camp will be from August 11th – 14th. The 11th is a mandatory training day for volunteers. Please contact us directly if you need an application printed or mailed to you. If you aren’t able to email or mail your application in, please contact us and we will assist in getting your application submitted. Please submit applications by July 23rd.

House Construction with Habitat for Humanity

Copper Country Habitat for Humanity is in the process of building its next home for someone in need. They have started to clear lot 26 on Green Acres Road, in Houghton and will continue work on the property throughout the summer. Volunteers are needed on Thursdays from 9-3 and on Saturdays from 9-3. Lunch will be provided. Any skill level is welcome to come and volunteer, there will be someone to show the volunteers how and what they can do to help during their shift volunteering.
