Bubble Soccer

Join MUB Board for Bubble Soccer! Come enjoy some soccer along with being thrown around inside an inflatable, and blow off some steam from these first few weeks.

Yoga with Blizzard

Join us on the lawn outside Rekhi Hall at 6pm for a night to unwind and relax with Blizzard. All levels are welcome to join, just don’t forget your yoga mat and water! Some mats will be provided, but supplies are limited.

Free Professional Headshots for Students at Career Fair

The Office of Alumni Engagement is offering free professional headshots for students at the Fall Career Fair.  A photographer from Brockit Inc. will be taking photographs on September 21, 2022, from 2-6 p.m. in the SDC.  

Photos will be taken first come, first served. Each student will take (1) test shot and then will have a limit of (3) posed shots.

Please sign up if you intend to utilize this free service. The deadline to sign up is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.


How Diversity Supports Innovation with Dr. Wayne Gersie

Supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility leads to more innovative outcomes.  Whether you’re working on a school assignment, starting your first job, or leading a team, helping people to feel included and willing to share their perspectives will increase the innovativeness of your team’s solutions.  Join Dr. Wayne Gersie, Michigan Tech’s inaugural Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion and a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Cognitive and Learning Sciences as he shares insights from his research as well as examples from industry.

Women’s Golf Club RSO at Michigan Tech

Interested in learning the game of golf without the pressure? The Women’s Golf Club is a RSO created for women to learn and play the game of golf with an emphasis on simply having fun!

Our first sit-down interest meeting will be on September 15th, at 6pm in Fisher 130. Typically we play nine holes or enjoy the driving range once a month. Club membership is non-stringent and welcoming of all skill levels. Equipment is provided.

The Library and Center for Diversity and Inclusion Host Student Study Hours

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and the J. Robert Van Pelt and John and Ruanne Opie Library (VPOL) are working together this semester to promote academic excellence. The library will hold open library research help hours every other Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2-5 pm starting on September 6th in Library 244. Librarians will be available during these study sessions and look forward to helping students make the most of the library’s resources.

All students are encouraged to attend to build community, support one another academically, and achieve academic success.

We host a variety of groups and workshops for students every semester. Workshops are held intermittently throughout the semester, while groups meet every week starting next week! Visit our webpage to learn more and sign up for the groups and workshops that interest you! 
The Stress Less workshop begins on Thursday, September 15th. That’s next week! Visit our website, fill out the registration form, and mark your calendars! You can expect to learn about managing stress and the role that stress plays in our lives while forming connections with other students and counselors at MTU! Please contact (counseling@mtu.edu ) with any questions. 


Health Hut

The Well-Being Advocates are hosting the first Health Hut of the semester! Stop by their table in the library for resources, tips, and a chance to chat with students who are passionate about well-being and health. Bring your Be Well card and get it stamped!
