Eagle Scout Project – Volunteers Needed

For Brad Burns’ Eagle Scout Project, a Walking Bridge will be rebuilt on trails near the Calumet Waterworks Park. Volunteers are needed to help take apart the current bridge and reassemble a new bridge. This is a great opportunity for anyone to gain community service hours. Volunteers do not need experience with handling tools to help with the project.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own equipment but are not required to do so. Times for the project are listed below, volunteers can arrive and leave whenever. Snacks will be available but meals will not be provided. Closed-toed shoes and long pants are required. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.

If you have any questions, please email bbeagle2023@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for any help!

Beekeeping 101

Ever wanted to know what it takes to become a beekeeper? Maybe you’re interested in raising bees, but not sure what equipment to get or how much everything will cost?

Whatever your interest level, the Sustainability Demonstration House invites you to join us next week for our Beekeeping 101 course! Registration for this ~2-hour course is free and will run on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Please email sdh@mtu.edu with any questions you may have. We hope to see you there!

Note: We will be running the same class 3 nights in a row, so participants will only attend one of the 3 days.
