Summary:
Worthington Industries/TWB Company is looking to hire a Process Welding Engineer for the Nashville TN – Prattville, Alabama area. This newly created position requires a highly creative and self-motivated individual with good communication skills and willingness to work with people with a variety of backgrounds to support welding operations in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. A hands-on and can-do mindset is essential for this position as you will be directly interacting with personnel on the manufacturing floor.
General Responsibilities:
Investigating and implementing improvements to existing welding processes.
Insure awareness of state of the art with regard to materials joining technology.
Troubleshooting of existing welding processes.
Training operators and maintenance personnel.
Investigation and development of new materials joining technologies.
Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures.
Initiate action to prevent product non-conformances relating to process and quality.
Interface with Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, Production and Engineering personnel to assure timely production support.
Consult with equipment suppliers to determine appropriate equipment and specifications.
Perform process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement
Skills:
Bachelor degree in Welding Engineering
Experience in the automotive industry.
PLC and robotics knowledge.
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Auto CAD.
Experience with working directly with welding processes. Preferably laser welding but other welding experience will be considered.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required to effectively communicate throughout the organization.
Solid understanding of Lean Principles (6S, Kaizan, Kanban, SMED)
Strong analytical ability to analyze and solve problems.
Strong Interpersonal & Teamwork skills; yet able to perceive needs and work independently.
Data driven problem solving approach including root cause analysis.

Summary:
Worthington Industries/TWB Company is looking to hire a Quality Engineer for the Nashville, TN- Prattville, AL area. The primary duty of this newly created Quality Engineer position is to develop, evaluate and improve quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. This person will be responsible for the initiation and the continuous improvement of processes and procedures relating to established quality assurance and external agency testing, data acquisition and analysis, product and process audits, gauge calibration, and evaluation of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products within a manufacturing facility. This person will also be responsible for maintaining and improving processes and procedures within the Quality Management System to ensure ongoing approvals by ISO and other external audit groups.
General Responsibilities:
Lead & manage all supplier quality activities, including supplier development & monitoring of existing suppliers.
Approve supplier initial sample submissions (PPAP).
Work with suppliers on cost saving initiatives.
Responsible for the development, application and maintenance of quality control systems for processing materials into finished products.
Develop and initiate methods and procedures for inspection, testing and evaluation.
Devise sampling procedures, supervises the design of forms for recording quality checks and preparation of instructions for these procedures.
Develops and implements quality engineering methods and procedures to assess costs and responsible for non-conforming material.
Writes, as determined by Quality Manager, training policies and manuals on quality issues.
Assists in coordinating ISO 14000 and TS 16949 or other certification programs to ensure company is in compliance.
Leads corrective action teams for customer complaints.
Responsible for quality portion of PPAP, APQP and corrective action process.
Skills:
Bachelor of Science in related discipline or equivalent experience required.
ASQ Certification preferred.
Three to five year experience in a QC or QA field, preferably in a high volume, automotive and/or steel processing, laser welding/ manufacturing environment.
ISO and TS experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good math skills and detail oriented.
Strong computer skills are required for the position.

Entry Level Metallurgist

Entry Level Metallurgist– 0 to 3 years experience. Recent grads considered with co-op or internship experience including Dec. 2014 and May 2015 grads. Steel producer located in IL. Candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.

Review and approve incoming steel to ensure compliance to material purchasing specifications. Perform routine metallurgical testing of heat treated and control-cooled forgings including: hardness testing (as-needed to assist Metallurgical Technician), microstructural analysis, data entry of test results.
Support Chief Metallurgist as needed with non-routine metallurgical analyses including all tasks above as well as: grain flow preparation, spectrographic chemical analysis, preparation of metallurgical reports. Provide Metallurgical support of internal heat treatment operations including: daily review of heat treat monitoring systems, monthly system accuracy tests, periodic internal audits. Provide plant-wide oversight of hardness testing equipment and procedures including verifications and calibrations. Assist Metallurgical Technician as needed with maintaining supplies and equipment in Metallurgical Laboratory including verifications and calibrations where required.

Bachelor’s Degree – Metallurgy or Materials Science & Engineering or equivalent work experience. 0-3+​ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. Know Lean Manufacturing practices (5S, TPM, Small Group Activities), Safety, Quality, and Environmental practices within a manufacturing environment. Familiar with Continuous Improvement strategies. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Previous experience working in a lab environment. Strong attention to detail, experience analyzing information, and reporting research results
