Please join us in congratulating Dr. Caryn Heldt on receiving an award from the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL). Heldt’s project was selected as one of eight new projects funded through Project Call 9.1, marking a significant achievement for Michigan Technological University and demonstrating Michigan Tech’s ability to compete alongside major leaders in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
The awarded project, “Continuous and Automated Downstream Purification of AAV,” will focus on advancing manufacturing processes for adeno-associated virus (AAV) purification, an important component in the development of gene therapies and other advanced biopharmaceutical products.
The project is led by Michigan Tech and includes collaborations with several industry and research partners, including Cytiva, EMD Millipore Corporation, Janssen, Landmark Bio, and PAK BioSolutions.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Caryn on this outstanding accomplishment and wish her continued success as the project moves forward.
