Helping students prepare for their futures is about more than academics—it’s about connecting them with opportunities, offering guidance, and helping them navigate the path from college to career. Jon has clearly made an impact in that area, and Michigan Tech Career Services recently recognized him for it.
As part of the annual First Destination Survey, Career Services added a new question this year asking graduating students:
“Was there anyone on campus that has had a positive impact on your career readiness that you want to acknowledge?”
The response was tremendous, with more than 160 individuals named by students as positive influences on their career readiness. Jon was among those recognized—and, in fact, was one of the five most-named people in the survey.
That recognition speaks volumes about the impact Jon has on Michigan Tech students.
Career Services shared that students specifically mentioned Jon as a positive career influence, highlighting the work he does that goes beyond traditional metrics. Huskies look to faculty and staff throughout campus for guidance as they prepare for their next steps, and Jon has become exactly the kind of supportive influence that helps students connect their education to their future careers.
Congratulations, Jon, on this well-deserved recognition! Thank you for everything you do to support our students, connect them with opportunities, and help them find their next career path.
We are proud to celebrate you as a Michigan Tech Career Champion!
