Michigan Tech will be upgrading on-domain systems to Microsoft 2019 this year. The first necessary phase is to get all systems on Office 2016 so that the transition to Office 2019 will be less disruptive.
Please keep in mind that Office 2019 is not compatible with Windows 7. The campus is currently transitioning to Windows 10; we are happy to assist with a Windows 10 upgrade.
Important Upcoming Dates
- January 24, 2019—Upgrade all on-domain systems to Office 2016
- June 2019 (after commencement)—Upgrade all on-domain systems to Office 2019
- December 31, 2019—Finish upgrading the remaining campus systems to Windows 10
Note: Systems cannot be upgraded to Office 2019 without first being upgraded to Windows 10. There is an ongoing effort to work with departments to get their systems upgraded to Windows 10 by the end of the calendar year (2019).
