Spring Involvement Fair RSO Sign-Up
The Spring Involvement Fair – an event to connect students to organizations – will take place on the first and second floor of the Memorial Union Building (MUB) on Tuesday, January 23th from 4 -7 pm. The theme this year is “Clear the Gloom, Find your Bloom”!
Please reserve your organization’s spot in the fair by midnight on Wednesday 1/10/2023. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after the 10th containing your organization’s table number. Please have your activities planned before filling out this registration- indoor-appropriate activities are permitted.
Keep in mind, space is limited. Organizations are not permitted to bring in food or beverages apart from prepackaged non-perishable items. Orgs cannot charge for giveaways such as apparel, a raffle, a fundraiser, etc.
By filling in your contact information, you will be the primary contact for your organization for Spring Involvement Fair. Please be sure to check your email regularly in the weeks leading up to the event for important announcements and information.

New Alumni Welcome Event
The Office of Alumni Engagement is hosting a brief New Alumni Welcome immediately following commencement rehearsal on Friday, December 15 in the SDC Multipurpose Room for our Midyear 2023 graduates. Plan to sign the class banner, receive an alumni welcome gift, and be sure to save room for a treat or two!
Bob Mark Business Model Pitch Competition
Register here to pitch your business model and market opportunity to a team of judges, potentially win prizes, and get feedback to help you move forward with your idea. We will meet on 1/24/24 from 5-7:30 pm in the MUB Ballroom A. Guidelines and a pitch rubric will be shared with you after you have registered.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day Events
’24 MLK Library Exhibit:
The Van Pelt Opie Library and The Center for Diversity and Inclusion is proud to present the MLK Library Exhibit featuring students’ posters. The purpose of the Exhibit is to give students the opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s contribution to the social justice cause.
Eligibility: Participants must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Michigan Technological University.
Student Groups may also submit one poster per group. NOTE: This does not restrict individual members from submitting a poster they designed. Individual members can still submit their own poster design.
How to enter: Students must complete all required sections of the Google form. If submitting a physical poster, please drop off to CDI.
MLK Reading Day:
In need of volunteer hours for the spring semester? Stay warm and read inside to local grade school classes about the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 10 AM – 3 PM for MLK Day.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Planning Committee is proud to announce the 35th Annual MLK Jr Day Celebration on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 10 AM in the Ballroom of the Memorial Union Building. This year, we welcome back 2018 Michigan Tech Alumni, Jaylyn Boone, as our Keynote speaker. Spots are limited. Sign up now by using the 35th Annual MLK Brunch Sign Up Sheet. MLK Interfaith Prayer Vigil:
The Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and the Cooperative Campus Ministry are
organizing an Interfaith Prayer Vigil and Reflection on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK Day), Monday, January 15, 2024 at noon in the Van Pelt and Opie Library’s East Reading Room. We invite students, faculty, and staff from all faiths to share a prayer, personal reflection or excerpt from one of King’s prayers, sermons or speeches.

MLK Peace March:
Following the MLK Interfaith Prayer Vigil, we invite the campus community to gather at the Husky statue at 1 p.m. for a peace march across campus to honor Dr. King and solidify our campus’ commitment to his life and work ensuring justice and equity for all. Rail Transportation Program Scholarships
he Rail Transportation Program at Michigan Tech is offering scholarships for students with a demonstrated interest in the railroad industry. Scholarship amounts range from $1000 to $2500 for the 2023-24 school year, deadline for applications is Jan 10, 2023. Rotaract Can & Bottle Drive
The Rotaract Club is having a can-drive pickup. We will be picking up cans (need to fill out the form) from your front door on the morning of Saturday, January 13th between 9:00am – 11:00am. Please have cans placed outside by 9:00 am for efficiency purposes.
Please keep pick-up locations within Hancock and Houghton city limits. (Other locations will be considered based on the amount of cans, you can still fill out the form and we will contact you)

The Michigan Tech Huskies men’s ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I college ice hockey program that represents Michigan Technological University. The Huskies are a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). They play at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena. They need ushers/ticket takers.
