Senior Design is more than just a class—it’s your bridge to the real world. This program connects students with industry partners through hands-on, open-ended design projects that mimic real engineering challenges. Working in small teams under the guidance of a faculty mentor (and often an industry rep), you’ll have access to cutting-edge tools, fabrication facilities, labs, and collaborative workspaces. Think of it as your first job, not your last class—the experience can be a game-changer for your career.
Course Sequence
To complete Senior Design, you’ll need to take the following courses in order:
- BE 4900 – Biomedical Design Fundamentals (Prerequisite)
You must complete this before enrolling in any Senior Design courses. - BE 4901 – Senior Design I (Fall)
- BE 4910 – Senior Design II (Spring)
These two courses should be taken in back-to-back semesters.
Registration Instructions
- Register for BE 4901 through BanWeb during the regular registration period.
- Make sure to select both an R section (lecture) and an L section (lab) when enrolling.
