Effective October 2025
All Biomedical Engineering (BME) students must complete BE 3550 – Fluid Mechanics to fulfill their Fluid Mechanics requirement.
Previously, students were allowed to choose between BE 3550 or the combination of ME 2201 + ME 3201. However, due to recent changes to the prerequisites for ME 3201, Biomedical Engineering students are no longer eligible to complete that pathway.
Effective immediately, BME students will be required to take BE 3550.
Courses from outside the Biomedical Engineering Department will no longer be accepted to meet this requirement.
A special exception waiver will be available for students who have already completed ME 2201 during Spring 2025 or Fall 2025.
