Wireless Communication Summer Youth Camp

Wireless communication network concept

Did you know that the signal distance for your home wifi is essentially limitless? That there are different types of antennae? Are you interested in exploring the differences between omni and directional receivers?

Attention high school students! There are still seats left in the Wireless Communications Technology Summer Youth Program (SYP), which takes place June 19 to June 24, 2022, on the Michigan Tech Campus.

For grades 9-11, the Wireless Communications camp explores antenna types used in wireless communications. Students will experiment with a variety of components, calculate theoretical communication distances, and then verify results. The week culminates in a wifi source scavenger hunt.

Students who have completed high school algebra and geometry will be poised to get the most out of this experience.
