Leo C. Ureel II was awarded a $35,000 Google CS4HS grant, along with co-PIs Charles Wallace and Linda Ott. The purpose of the grant is to establish a U.P.-wide Community of Practice for K-12 computer teachers. The group will be kicking-off the project with a workshop at Michigan Tech in August.

CS student Hannah Wilder has been selected as the 2015 CS Department Scholar by the department faculty. This award is in recognition of Wilder’s outstanding academic accomplishments during her career at Michigan Tech. Hannah will be recognized, along with all other department scholars, on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the 21st Annual Student Leadership Awards.
Myounghoon Jeon (CS and CLS) has received $61,132 from the New York Institute of Technology, for the first year of a three-year research project that will total $258,362. The title of the project is “NRI: Music-Based Interactive Robotic Orchestration for Children with ASD.”
