Detroit Entrepreneurs Organization to Host Global Student Entrepreneur Awards

The Detroit Chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization will host the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) on January 28th in Troy, Michigan. The event is a 30-minute business pitch competition where students describe the concept and approach behind their functioning business. There is no cost to enter.

Qualification Requirements

  • Have generated at least $500 in revenue or $1000 investment/prior pitch prize
  • Operate a company for at least 6 months
  • Be currently enrolled in a Michigan-based college or university
  • 30 years of age or less
  • Undergraduate or graduate college level

Michigan Tech Week Hackathon and Pitch Competition

Michigan Tech students are invited to participate in student hackathon and pitch competition events at Michigan Tech Week College Day on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Michigan Central, Detroit, Michigan. Apply by September 15, 2024.

Michigan Tech Week is a collaboration of multiple organizations and individuals who are committed to the state and our innovation ecosystem.

Michigan Tech Week Student Pitch Competition

The Michigan Tech Week Student Pitch Competition is a student-led business pitch competition designed to spotlight the top student startups from across the state. The competition aims to support future leaders in Michigan’s startup ecosystem as they compete for over $15,000 in non-dilutive funding. Each winner will also receive a free 1 year membership to Bamboo co-working space. The first place team will also receive up to $5,000 in legal services. Applicants accepted to pitch will each receive 2 free tickets to attend Michigan Tech Week. Apply here.

Idea Pitch Competition – Registration Now Open

Do you have an innovative idea that could disrupt the norm and redefine “business as usual”? If so, we invite you to showcase your innovation at the upcoming Fall 2023 Idea Pitch Competition. Register here

Date and Time: October 11, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Location: Great Lakes Research Center, Room 202

At the Idea Pitch Competition, you will have a platform to present your groundbreaking idea in an engaging community setting. Each contestant will have THREE MINUTES to captivate the audience and judges with their visionary ideas. Judges will vote to select top pitches and award cash prizes to the top contestants:

  • First place: $200
  • Second place: $100
  • Third place: $50
  • Honorable mention: $25 
  • Audience favorite: $25

Stock Trading Competition- Jan 31 registration deadline

The Finance Club is hosting a stock trading competition on Investopedia open to all College of Business (COB) majors and minors. 

The competition will run from February 1st through April 12th with a starting cash value of $100,000. 

Prize money awarded to the students with the three highest portfolios:

  • 1st: $500
  • 2nd: $300
  • 3rd: $200
