Ryan Neely has joined the College of Business student support team as our new undergraduate academic advisor. He’s ready to help Business Huskies chart their paths, tackle tough decisions, and make the most of their Tech experience.
Neely is no stranger to Michigan Tech. He previously served as the Michigan Tech Testing Center manager, where he oversaw the administration of campus-based and sponsored exams and supervised testing center staff. In his new role, Neely will bring the same dedication to supporting Huskies on their path to graduation in the College of Business.

“I’m excited to join the College of Business at Michigan Tech and work directly with students as they map out their academic and career journeys,” Neely said.
“Advising isn’t just about course schedules; it’s about helping students discover opportunities, set goals, and feel confident about the path they’re on.” – Ryan Neely, Academic Advisor, College of Business
As an undergraduate academic advisor, Neely will work directly with students on course planning, degree progress, and connecting to campus resources. His experience in educational administration and student support positions him to guide Huskies through challenges and opportunities during their time at Tech.
“Advisors are an essential resource for student success,” said Dean Johnson, College of Business dean. “We are thrilled to have Ryan bring his expertise and commitment to the College of Business.”
Outside of work, Neely enjoys traveling, hiking, fitness activities, and riding his motorcycle. He can often be found exploring outdoors.
Students can connect with Neely at rmneely@mtu.edu or stop by his office in Academic Office Building 108.
