GeoTenerife’s Summer Programme

GeoTenerife’s Summer Programme is now open for applications.

Thanks to the success of previous years’ programmes, we have a record number of placements available from June to September 2018.

The programme is run in association with the Canary Islands Volcanology Institute and includes:

– Geophysical survey for geothermal exploration
– Hydrogeochemical and soil CO2 efflux monitoring
– Volcano & Geothermal Seismic Research
– Diffuse CO2 degassing monitoring
– Hydrogeochemical and soil CO2 efflux monitoring
– Environmental monitoring (optical remote sensing)
– Environmental monitoring (CH4 emission from landfill)

The full range of skills students will learn on this programme is fully outlined on our website (http://geotenerife.com/summer-programme-info/), alongside video testimonials from previous candidates. All programmes are open to undergraduates or recent graduates of relevant subjects. You can follow their progress this summer on our Twitter feed, @GeoTenerife.

We are committed to widening access to our programmes, and we have two GeoTenerife scholarship places available for our summer programme (see http://geotenerife.com/scholarships/). You can follow the progress of our scholars this summer on our dedicated Twitter feed, @GeoTScholar.

Application deadline: 3 March 2018.

We also have limited availability left for our week-long Volcano Monitoring or Surface Geothermal Exploration Field School in March 2018. For this programme, places are filled on a first come, first served basis (see http://geotenerife.com/field-school/). You can see what these students get up to by following @VolcanoCamp.
