The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking a Transportation Engineer 9-P11 (Staff Engineer – Construction) Metro Region.

This position functions as a Staff Engineer for the Metro Region Construction and Materials Unit (Metro CFS).  The purpose of the position is to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations on construction projects in the Metro Region.  This position will assist Metro CFS Staff Engineers with various duties in both construction administration and materials testing and acceptance.

Education

Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.
Note:  We may consider applicants that will be obtaining a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering by May 31, 2020.

Responsible for completing a variety of assignments to protect, develop, and maintain the state’s environmental resources, which include the NEPA review, classification, and certification of department trunkline projects, mitigation follow-up, and updating environmental databases.

Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a physical, biological, or natural resource science, resource management, resource planning, engineering, or a related field.
