PhD student Abel Reyes-Angulo (Department of Applied Computing, College of Computing, and Computational Science and Engineering PhD program) has been awarded a $3,000, 12-month grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation for his research project, “Development of a parameter-efficient Deep Learning algorithm for medical image segmentation as an effort to mitigate the disparities in access to healthcare resources for skin cancer in the Michigan Upper Peninsula.” He is currently advised by Dr. Dukka KC.
