Support for Windows 7/8 ending next year

Beginning in January 2020, Microsoft will no longer support Windows 7 with continued security updates. At that time, Michigan Tech IT will remove all Windows 7/8 PCs from the Michigan Tech network. Upcoming upgrades–Microsoft Office 2019 and Windows 10

Michigan Tech will be upgrading on-domain systems to Microsoft 2019 this year. The first necessary phase is to get all systems on Office 2016 so that the transition to Office 2019 will be less disruptive. Please keep in mind that Office 2019 is not compatible with Windows 7.
