Eagle Scout Project

Mont Ripley wishes to Thank and Congratulate Tanner Guidas from Boy Scout Troop 207 (Houghton/Hancock) on the completion of his Eagle Scout Service Project.

As part of the Eagle Scout Service Project requirements, a Scout must “plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project…”

Tanner planned and organized a crew of volunteers that spent nearly 100 hours cutting, sanding, refinishing and replacing the seats on the tables in the chalet. These updates will keep the tables in good shape for Mont Ripley’s guests to use for many years to come.

Tanner is a junior at Houghton High School. He is active in sports and also a ski and snowboard instructor at Mont Ripley.

When asked why he choose this for his project, Tanner said “Mont Ripley is my second home in the winter. I knew that the picnic tables were in need of repair, and I wanted to do something for my project that meant something to me and included helping out one of my favorite places.”

Thank you, Tanner and Boy Scout Troop 207 for making Mont Ripley a part of your Eagle Scout Service Project.
