It’s time for the annual surveys!
We know the weather was crazy, and the season was way too short, but we made 39 million gallons of water into snow and skied 67 days, which isn’t bad for having less than 100″ of natural snow from Mother Nature!
If you skied or rode at Mont Ripley this winter we’d like to hear about your season!
Community members and Michigan Tech students are invited to fill out the annual surveys to help Mont Ripley continuously improve your experiences!
Thank you for your continued support of Mont Ripley!
On April 10, 2024, let’s come together for MTU’s 24-hour giving challenge, Give Back to the Pack. Whether you’re making a gift or spreading the word, your support can make a significant impact on the future of Mont Ripley and MTU.
Ready to give a gift today? Don’t wait!
To donate, simply visit our Give Back to the Pack fundraising page before April 11 at noon!
Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will have a lasting effect on Michigan Tech and its students. Once you make your gift, be sure to share the message with others to further your impact!

Welcome back from Winter Break, Huskies!
Ski and Snowboard classes begin Monday as scheduled.
To reduce wait times, and better serve all of our students and guests, all RENTAL EQUIPMENT for classes should be secured prior to the first day of class.
Equipment will be set up in advance and available for pick up in the rental pick up building (small green building outside the lower main entrance) prior to class times.
If you are renting for the first time, allow a minimum of 30 minutes to pick-up equipment and be ‘on snow ready’ prior to the start of class. Classes will meet in the RACE ROOM, (blue building west of the main chalet) on week 1.
Get your RENTAL EQUIPMENT TODAY and be ready for classes next week!
Contact Ripley Office at 906-487-2340 with questions.
Due to continued high temperatures and rain, Mont Ripley will be closed Tuesday, December 26th- Friday, January 5th. We are currently planning to make snow beginning Saturday and rebuild the hill for skiing next week. We hope to resume regular operations on Saturday, January 6th at 10 am
Continue to check Facebook, Instagram and skimontripley.com for the most recent updates on operations.
With 115 acres in the snowiest place in the Midwest, Mont Ripley is a vital recreation resource for Michigan Tech and the Keweenaw. As the University and community expand, there are opportunities for our facilities to grow. Will you show your support of Mont Ripley with a gift today?
Chalet Improvement/Expansion
The Mont Ripley Chalet was built in 1965 when Tech’s enrollment was 3,400. It is more than double that now, with 44 percent of the student body visiting the ski hill last winter.
Top to Bottom Beginner Run
The addition of a new top-to-bottom beginner run would better serve guests of all abilities. The new green run would be established to the far east side of the current skiable terrain.
Additional Parking
By providing more convenient parking options, more community members can enjoy a day of skiing!
