Three new faculty members joined the Michigan Tech College of Business this academic year. Their expertise spanning business analytics, leadership, accounting, and taxation, enhances our programs and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within the College and across campus.
Feiyu E: Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics
Feiyu E comes to the College of Business from the University of Maryland, where she completed her postdoctoral fellowship in 2025. She earned her PhD in Information Systems from the University of Hong Kong in 2023.
Her research explores the intersection of information systems and business analytics, with a focus on healthcare, social media, and disaster management. She specializes in machine learning, large language models (LLMs), text mining, and econometrics.
E welcomes collaborations in design science, healthcare data analysis, social media analytics, AI-related studies, and IT artifact research. Her work aligns with the growing demand for data-driven decision-making in both business and society.
Da Yeon Her: Assistant Professor of Management
Da Yeon (Dane) earned her PhD in business administration from Florida International University and holds a BA in psychology with a minor in statistical methods from Miami University.
Her research centers on leadership, workplace climate, followership, remote work, abusive supervision, and counterproductive work behaviors. She also studies strategies for managing your boss (MYB), an area that connects psychological insights with practical workplace applications.
Her looks forward to interdisciplinary collaborations in human resource management, organizational behavior, leadership studies, and methodological innovations such as meta-analysis and machine learning.
Ehsan Heshmatzadeh: Assistant Teaching Professor of Accounting
With over eight years of teaching experience and more than a decade of professional practice as a financial manager, board member, and tax advisor, Ehsan Heshmatzadeh brings both academic and applied expertise to the College of Business.
He earned his PhD in accounting and has taught in both Iran and the US, most recently as an instructor at Michigan Tech in spring 2025. Heshmatzadeh’s research focuses on tax policy and compliance, audit risk, corporate governance, financial statement analysis, and earnings quality.
Heshmatzadeh also integrates cutting-edge technology into his scholarship, including explainable AI for audit and financial risk assessment. He’s working to reinvigorate the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at Michigan Tech, which provides free tax services to the community and hands-on learning opportunities for students.
Dean Johnson, College of Business dean, said the newest additions to the faculty increase and enhance the unique value of a Michigan Tech College of Business education. “Our College is defined by our strategic placement at the intersection of technology and business, and these new professors strengthen that connection,” he said. “They bring fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to teaching and research that will benefit our students and the wider Michigan Tech community.”
