Job Posting: Somat Engineering (interns and full time)

Email from Somat Engineering…

Our MTU alumni, Micah Brooks and John Qualey, will be attending the career fair next week for Somat. We have found great success in the individuals we have recruited from there and are hoping to build upon that success. I have attached our internship flyer that we will be handing out at the fair but thought that it would not hurt for you to have a copy also as I imagine many of the students you advise are already looking for opportunities.
In addition to interns, we would be happy to speak with any environmental or geotechnical engineers that will be graduating this winter and looking for full-time work. These positions would be out of one of our metro-Detroit offices (Taylor, Detroit, or West Bloomfield).
Please feel free to reach out to Micah (mbrooks@somateng.com) or John (jqualey@somateng.com).

Job Posting: POWER Engineers

Email from Alum (Tom Kilpela, Transmission Line Engineer @ POWER Engineers, Inc)

I will be attending the career fair at Michigan Tech this fall on behalf of POWER Engineers. As a graduate of Michigan Tech, I am eager to revisit the campus and talk to students about their future. In our Ann Arbor office, we currently have open internship/co-op and entry level full-time positions for Civil/Structural Engineering students who are interested in working in the Energy/Power Delivery industry. After joining POWER once I finished graduate school in the Spring of 2015, I find the work in the industry to be challenging and rewarding. I also found that Michigan Tech did a great job preparing me for project specific challenges. At POWER, interns and entry level engineers are challenged and given significant responsibility immediately to help develop their careers in this booming industry. POWER Engineers is an employee-owned company and offers a relaxed work atmosphere. POWER is also one of the largest engineering firms within the Power Delivery industry as we have played a role in many projects around the world.  The link to the open positions is located below. I encourage students to apply, if interested, before the career fair to help streamline the process. Students can contact me with any questions about the open positions prior to the career fair by emailing Thomas.kilpela@powereng.com. I am looking forward to meeting with the faculty and students on campus in a few weeks.
