The Upper Peninsula Road Builders are an association of the fifteen Upper Peninsula County Road Commissions. Since 1967 the Upper Peninsula Road Builders have been providing scholarships and other financial support to Michigan Technological University Engineering and Surveying students. Upper Peninsula Road Builders members work in conjunction with the Upper Peninsula Distributors Association to sponsor events and solicit personal donations which fund this family of scholarships.

Title: Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO) Senior Undergraduate Scholarship
Deadline: March 29, 2019
Scholarships will be awarded for the 2019/2020 school year and have ranged from $5,000 to $10,000 in recent years. Successful recipients must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time at the senior level (during the 2019/2020 school year) in an accredited civil engineering program, or in a related field as determined by ASDSO, and must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in hydraulics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in another discipline related to the design, construction and operation of dams.
Undergraduate students planning to graduate in May/December 2020 will be eligible for the 2019 scholarship.
Minimum Criteria – Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for the first three years of college and be recommended by their academic advisor.
Basis for Award – The basis for selection will generally follow these guidelines:

o Work Experience/Activities
o Essay

MSES is proud to announce its annual scholarship program available to college students pursuing a major/career in a transportation related field. The current application available at mses.org here is due Tuesday, February 19, 2019 and is required for all awards to be granted for the 2019-2020 academic school year. Applications may be submitted through the available online form at mses.org or downloaded via fillable PDFand e-mailed to info@mses.org.

Purpose
The Wisconsin Section of AWWA Young Professionals Committee is excited to announce that scholarship applications are now being accepted for the 2019 scholarship program. The WIAWWA Scholarship was created by WIAWWA’s Young Professional Committee to encourage and support: 1) outstanding individuals pursuing a degree or training in the field of drinking water supply and treatment, and 2) children of WIAWWA members.
While categories 1, 2 and 3 remain popular scholarships for full time students, categories A and B have been created to assist WIAWWA professionals pursuing further education. We are especially excited to announce the category B One AWWA Operator Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible by the AWWA providing annual matching funds to the state organization.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must submit:
- Application form.
- Proposed curriculum of study (i.e., list of courses that have been or will be taken during the course of the pursued curriculum).
- Two letters of recommendation/reference, with at least one being an educational or professional reference.
- One page essay of educational plans and career objectives (all categories). For Category 1, 2 and 4 applicants, the one page essay should also demonstrate or declare an interest in the drinking water supply field (especially in Wisconsin – see WIAWWA Mission Statement).
- One page resume that includes all schools, colleges and universities attended; dates, major/fields of study, grade point average, degrees received, work experience, civic work, and extracurricular activities.
- Unofficial transcripts.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Eligibility Categories
Category 1 – University Student
- Enrolled full time in a university or college fall 2019 semester.
- Pursuing a degree relevant to the drinking water supply field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at time of application.
- Have not received WIAWWA (or WWA) scholarship previously in this category.
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and Wisconsin resident.
- Additional consideration will be given to student members of WIAWWA/AWWA.
Time Schedule
Completed applications must be postmarked no later than April 26, 2019. The scholarship recipients will be notified by May 24, 2019, and will be publicly recognized at the 2019 WIAWWA Annual Conference held on September 11 – 13, 2019 at the Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center in Madison
- The Working Students Award is a $1000 scholarship presented to four full time students (12+ credit hours) who work an average of at least ten hours a week. This scholarship is open to Undergraduate Students not graduating in May of 2019 and applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to be considered for this award.

- The Students Helping Students Scholarship will provide one $2000, two $1000, and one $500 awards. This scholarship is open to Undergraduate Students not graduating in May of 2019. There is no minimum GPA requirement for this award!
ESD established a $1,000 award to recognize undergraduate student(s) who best distinguishes themselves in the engineering and scientific communities. The award will be presented at the Society’s annual awards program held in June. Each applicant is requested to supply information about his or her academic background, extra-curricular activities and work experience. All applicants will receive a one-year complimentary Student Membership in The Engineering Society of Detroit.
