Scholarship: Chicagoland Construction Scholarship Program

The Chicagoland Construction Scholarship Foundation (CCSF) supports future construction leaders by offering renewable scholarships to qualified college students studying construction management or engineering. This scholarship program commenced in 2003 and has awarded over $400,000 to more than 80 students. Scholarships will be a maximum of $4,000 per student per year and may be renewable for up to two years of undergraduate study toward a degree in an approved construction curriculum.

The current online application for the Chicagoland Construction Scholarship Foundation will close in three weeks on December 1st.  Please encourage your current sophomores and juniors pursuing construction-related careers to apply.

Job Posting – MDOT: Mackinac Bridge

This position is responsible for maintenance and construction programs and will assist the Chief Engineer (Engineer Manger Licensed) for all planning, development, and implementation of maintenance and construction programs for the Mackinac Bridge, such as painting needs, structural repairs, resurfacing, building construction, plaza renovation, and development of other cost-effective programs relating to the Bridge as directed by the Authority.  Additionally, this position serves as a liaison to contractors, Mackinac Bridge employees, and Department of Transportation Construction & Design staff.

Undergraduate Research Program – Summer 2023

REU Materials Science & Engineering – University of Missouri

The projects of this REU Site focus on understanding and predicting these relationships for micro- and nano-structured materials across a wide spectrum of applications, including sensors, batteries, reactors, and implantable devices. Students in this program learn cutting-edge materials research approaches that include atomistic simulation, coarse-grain modeling, and a suite of materials design / fabrication / characterization techniques. This research will not only advance the science in each unique area, but will provide students with unique, measurable skills in computational modeling, materials science design, processing, characterization, and creative thinking.

Scholarship: National Society of Professional Foundation (NSPSF)

Each year, through the National Society of Professional Surveyors Foundation (NSPSF), over $30,000 in scholarships funded by a variety of individuals, companies, and organizations are made available to encourage and support college education in geospatial sciences. These scholarships are a great opportunity for college students in surveying, mapping, geographic information systems, and geodetic science programs. The deadline to submit is January 21, 2023.
