Scholarship – Asphalt Institute Foundation (Bill and Shireen Kirk Scholarship for 2025)

The Asphalt Institute Foundation is pleased to announce the Bill and Shireen Kirk Scholarship for 2025. More than $113,000 in scholarship funds has been awarded to students from across the United States since 2020. We encourage you to share this scholarship opportunity with any prospective student applicants that may need financial assistance for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must:

  • Be a third- or fourth-year undergraduate student; masters; or doctoral student.
  • Be pursuing a degree in a civil engineering or pavement infrastructure-focused major, with an emphasis on asphalt materials and its use.

2025 Scholarship Applications

The 2025 Scholarship application period is open. 

The WTS Minnesota women scholarships are competitive and are based on the applicant’s specific transportation goals, academic record, and transportation-related activities or job skills. Applicants of varying background and experiences are encouraged to apply. Financial need is not a primary consideration. Applications must be submitted as 1 PDF and are due via this google form by Monday, February 24, 2025, 5:00 PM!

WTS Minnesota Scholarships

$2,000 Dan Meyers High School Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a high school senior.   
  • Applicant must be considering a college degree in a transportation-related field such as civil engineering, math, urban planning, geography, economics, or public policy.

$2,000 Katherine Turnbull Undergraduate Leadership Scholarship

  • Applicants must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics.
  • Applicant must have plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.
  • Applicants for the Katherine Turnbull Undergraduate Leadership Scholarship must specifically address the issue of leadership on their personal statement.

$2,000 Donna Allen Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Applicants must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics.
  • Applicant must have plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.

$2,000 WTS Minnesota Graduate Scholarship

  • Applicants must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics.
  • Applicant must have plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.

$2,000 WTS Technical Scholarship

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Currently enrolled in an technical school program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics.
  • Plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.

$2,000 WTS/MSES Workforce Development High School Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a high school senior.   
  • Applicant must be considering a college degree in a transportation-related field such as civil engineering, math, urban planning, geography, economics, or public policy.

$2,000 WTS/MSES Advancing Women in Transportation Graduate Scholarship

  • Applicants must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics.
  • Applicant must have plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.

Enterprise Day!

Are you interested in learning more about Enterprise at Michigan Tech? Maybe you are thinking about joining Enterprise, but are not sure which team is right for you? Learn more by talking with program staff and students from various Enterprise teams, all in one place!

Participants are able to visit in-person between 6 – 8 p.m. During this time, participants may move between multiple tables to ask questions, check out current projects, and network with team representatives.
