ITE Michigan Section Webinar

Increasing roadway capacity by funding capital expansion projects is not always the solution to decrease roadway congestion. FHWA estimates that 60% of congestion is a result of nonrecurring issues such as work zones, bad weather and traffic incidents. TSMO targets the nonrecurring congestion by optimizing the performance of existing infrastructure coupled with utilizing technology to increase roadway capacity, all while keeping associated costs at a minimal. This Virtual Lunch and Learn presentation by Mohammad Al-Akash from AECOM, aims to expound on Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) and provide young professionals with a better understanding of TSMO and its applications. The one-hour session is free to attend and will take place June 8th, 2022, from 11:00 AM EST to noon.

Use link below to register for this free virtual presentation: https://forms.gle/EfkczgifcCDZXLSV8  Registration for the event closes at 5pm on June 4th.

This is a great opportunity for students and young professionals to connect with experienced professionals and learn a little more about TSMO.  While these lunch-and-learns are targeted towards young professionals, anyone is invited to join if interested. If you have any questions or if you would like to present a topic in the future, please contact the YPC Committee Chair Cole Villalobos at Cvillalobos@hrcengr.com.
