The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality consistently has full time positions posted on the MI NEOGOV website….many are positions civil, geotechnical, environmental and geological engineers. Right now they are saying that 50% of DEQ and DNR’s workforce is set to retire within the next 5 years (!)

The work that the office performs is primarily solid waste/landfill engineering with some environmental engineering, hydrogeology, and geology components; however, it’s heavier on the civil side.
