MITA Scholarship

The MITA Scholarship Fund offers financial support to individuals hoping to pursue a career in the heavy/highway construction industry. This scholarship is not only available for students that may be looking to get a 4-year degree in engineering etc., but also to those that are looking to attend a trade school. Anything heavy highway/construction related.

SS Accelerated MS Degree Info Session

Interested in pursuing a master’s degree? Did you know it can be done in only one year? If you are a rising junior or senior (from any major on campus), this is the time to explore your options.

The Department of Social Sciences (SS) will be hosting an information session from 4-5 p.m. on Monday (March 20) in the Academic Office Building Commons (second floor of the AOB) for the following programs:

  • Accelerated M.S. in Environmental and Energy Policy
  • Accelerated M.S. in Industrial Heritage and Archaeology
  • Accelerated M.S. in Sustainable Communities

Drop in and learn about the various curriculums, how to double count undergraduate courses toward a graduate degree, how to use the senior rule, and the all-important information on funding your graduate degree. Advisors will be available to answer any other questions you may have.

Join faculty and current students from the Michigan Tech College of Business (COB) on March 22 from 4-5 p.m. in the Academic Office Building, AOB 101, to explore more about graduate program options in business.

Featured programs will include the Master of Science in Accounting, the TechMBA, the Master of Engineering Management and the Master of Science in Applied Natural Resource Economics. A representative from the Graduate School will also be present.

Info Session Today: Summer Track B Study Abroad Program in England

Looking for a great study abroad opportunity? Look no further than the Summer Track B 2023 Crossing Borders: Study Abroad in England! A program information session is being held today (Feb. 22) in the Department of Social Sciences Commons on the second floor of the Academic Office Building (AOB 209) at 4 p.m.

This four-week program takes in the history and archaeology of northwestern England and Southern Scotland and includes six credits of (HASS) coursework. Visit the program website for more details and to submit your application. There is no cost to apply; a $500 deposit is due March 15.

New Venture Challenge prep-register by 3/1/23

Are you a student with a great business idea or do you want to team up with a student who has a great business idea?  If so, the New Venture Challenge provides an exciting venue to pitch your business, get valuable feedback, network with representatives within Michigan’s innovation & entrepreneurship ecosystem, and last but not least, an opportunity to win some valuable prize money!

For over a decade, Michigan Technological University and Central Michigan University have collaborated to offer Tech students the opportunity to compete at the New Venture Competition in Mount Pleasant, MI.  Students compete for over $100,000 of cash prizes and in-kind services.

We will host an information session and two prep sessions, we encourage you to attend all prep sessions if you plan to pitch.  The pitch competition itself will involve a trip to Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant where you will pitch your idea.
