Chemical Engineering Research Selected for Mining Engineering Feature

The Michigan Tech Department of Chemical Engineering is proud to congratulate Vincent Bailey A., Palas Borkar, Daniel Amponsah-Berko, and their advisor, Dr. Timothy Eisele, on having their research selected for a special extended abstract in Mining Engineering, the monthly magazine of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME).

Their paper, “Iron Ore Tailings Reprocessing by Electrostatic Separation Plus Two-Stage Froth Flotation,” was published in Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration and has now been selected for inclusion as a special extended abstract in Mining Engineering. These extended abstracts are by invitation only and are distributed to SME’s more than 13,000 members worldwide.

The research explores approaches for reprocessing iron ore tailings using electrostatic separation combined with two-stage froth flotation, with the goal of recovering valuable iron resources from tailings and supporting more sustainable mining practices.

This recognition highlights the significance and relevance of their work and provides an opportunity to share their research with a broad audience of mining and metallurgy professionals around the world.

Congratulations to Vincent, Palas, Daniel, and Dr. Eisele on this outstanding recognition of their research!
