Dr. Ajit Yoganathan, Georgia Tech, will present a lecture Monday, February 21, 2022, at 12:00 pm, in Rekhi Hall Room 214. The lecture can also be attended virtually.

Dr. Yoganathan is Regents’ Professor and associate chair for research in The Wallace H. Coulter School of Biomedical Engineering, and the Wallace H. Coulter Distinguished Faculty Chair in Biomedical Engineering.
His research interests include physiological, pathological and post-surgical mechanics of the mitral and tricuspid valves, the effect of hemodynamic forces on the mechanobiology of aortic valves, hemodynamics of the total cavopulmonary connection in congenital hypoplastic left hearts, fluid mechanics of mechanical and polymeric heart valves, and development of a novel fluid management device for use in a pediatric ECMO-CVVH setup.
The Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics (CFM) Laboratory at Georgia Tech, established in 1979 by Dr. Yoganathan, is one of the pioneering laboratories in the world studying the function and mechanics of heart valves and other complex cardiac defects. The CFM lab is in the Biomedical Engineering department.
