Zhenlin Wang, professor of computer science, has been named director of the Michigan Tech Department of Computer Science graduate programs in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. Wang steps in for longtime CS graduate director Jean Mayo, who remains in the department as a researcher and professor of computer science.
“Jean has done a tremendous job at this position and I would like to thank her for her contributions to our department over the years,” says Andy Duan, Computer Science chair.
Wang is a member of the Institute of Computing and Cybersystems’s (ICC) Centrer for Scalable Architectures and Systems (SAS).
The Michigan Tech Department of Computer Science offers bachelor of science degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Cybersecurity, which is offered jointly with the Department of Applied Computing. Graduate programs include master of science degrees in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Data Science; and PhD programs in Computer Science and Computational Science and Engineering, which is jointly offered with other Michigan Tech academic departments. It is a department of the Michigan Tech College of Computing, the first and only college focused solely on computing in Michigan, and one of only a few such academic units in the nation.
